Kesari,
co-written and directed by Anurag Singh, is based on the 1897 Battle of
Saragarhi that saw 21 Sikh soldiers of the British Indian contingent fighting
against 10,000 Afghan invaders. Before attaining martyrdom, the Sikhs had
managed to kill 900 of their enemies. The military combat is considered the
bravest ever in the history of mankind.
Kesari, jointly produced by Dharma Productions, Cape of Good Films and Azure Entertainment, has a budget of Rs 80 crore riding on it.
